Jennie

I want to take the time to write about all three of my sisters so this post is about my sister Jennie who is four years older than me:

Jennie is a strong woman. You give her a big trial and she knows to fall at the feet of God. She is also very strong in knowing what is right and what is wrong. When I was rebellious years ago she always took me aside to encourage me to see my sinful heart. She cared so much about me spiritually that she did everything she could to be a spiritual mentor to me.

She has such heart of compassion. If I feel I really need to be encouraged because of my unequally yoked situation I will give her a call. She will give me godly advice, but at the same time extend so much compassion.

I will never forget the time she recently sent me home with a baked apple pie. I have never been given a home made pie and especially one that good. Also, a few weeks ago I showed up at my mom's place to visit her when my mom showed me brand new clothes that Jennie had bought for my kids, which she left with my mom to give to me. I was so touched at the thought of her thinking of me in such a way that it deeply moved me.

Now that she is raising a baby I am able to be "big sister" to her even though I am younger. I feel very grateful when she humbly calls me to get advice on babies. I love how she shares funny stories about her day with her daughter and how quickly she is developing.
