Not Good

Just about every day I take the kids on a walk to get us all exercised. Once I have pushed the double stroller to the neighborhood that I like most I let the kids out to walk. Well, today didn't go so well. The kids came across a wooden fence that surrounded the front of a home. It's beams went from left to right, one on the top and one on the bottom. They stopped to see the roses behind it as they laid their hands on the beam. All of a sudden the beam they leaned on gave way and they fell right into the yard. Trudi was fine but Heidi fell into the thorn bush! When I picked her up there was blood EVERYWHERE. It was on her shirt, her hands, and all over her face. I could see that the blood was coming from her mouth, a lot of it infact. Trying not to panic as she screamed and screamed, I looked around to see where I could find help. Just across the street I found a home that was turned into a preschool.

I picked up Trudi and quickly rushed over there with Heidi's hand in mine. I asked one of the ladies if I could get some help. She took one look at Heidi and said, "OH MY GOSH! Here, follow me." I went into the house and was greeted by the owner who showed me the way to the bathroom. Thankfully everything was baby safe, which allowed me to leave Trudi in the room as I rushed Heidi to the bathroom. As she continued to cry I washed the blood off of her hands and face. Now that her face was clean I was able to see where she was hurt. The thorns scratched her top and bottom lip as well as a couple of places in her mouth. The main problem were her cheeks. The thorns really got a hold of her there, forming deep scratches across her skin.

The owner of the home was so kind to me. She gave Heidi a Popsicle and gave me some Tylenol to give to her as well. Heidi is fine at the moment but I feel so bad for her. Most of all, I am really thankful that the preschool was right across the street with women who were so helpful to me.

OMG! Poor baby! You were truly lucky to have such helpful people so close by. Praying for a speedy recovery and hoping she won't be traumatized by rose bushes.
