Prayer Does The Job

For quite some time now I've been praying that my husband would get the desire to go back to church and be around Christians. One of his friends, Ed, is an older man who goes to a Christian church. Gus has always respected and admired his friendship. Today Ed invited Gus to bring his family to a dinner that his church was hosting. It was for anyone in the community and it had a lot of homemade food. I was glad that Gus was willing to go even after a full day's work.

It's a typical Christan church that you would see in a neighborhood. I'm still not sure how strong their doctrine is but I could definitely see the the love for God in the members. Everyone was so welcoming to Gus and even one of the guys there became a friend of his. They invited Gus to come to their Wednesday night worship service. To my surprise he was more than happy to go and asked me to come along with him. Though I am a bit hesitant about how charismatic they are, I couldn't be more thankful that Gus is willing to surround himself with people who love God.

When we returned home Gus told me that he's really happy. I told him that he has hung out with Christians on Saturday (helping my mom move with my family), hung out with Christians today, and our new neighbors next door are Christians. I told him that a lot of people are praying for him. I'm looking forward to see what God will do this week with Gus.
