It's easy for me to think I know everything about a baby the second time around but today I was proved wrong. When I put Trudi down tonight she was having a hard time going to sleep, a very hard time in fact. She was so overtired and hot. For some reason it was really hot in our place at that time, but not hot enough to turn on the AC, where as right now it has cooled down. I can also tell that it's cooler right now because the crickets aren't singing in a loud choir outside. Anyway, I picked Trudi back up and took her to the kitchen, feeling as though I almost wanted to throw my hands up with fenestration in not knowing what was wrong. I saw that she was sweating so I put some cool water on her face and neck. Then she started reaching for my shirt. I had just fed her and knew that she couldn't still be hungry, but I still thought how strange it was that she wanted to nurse. Just then my mother's words of the past hit me: "Megan, try giving her water sometimes. Babies do get thirsty."
So I found the baby bottle, which I've only used once with her, and I put a little water in it. I was worried that she wouldn't take the bottle but was shocked when she began to consume the water through it. She drank and drank and drank. When Heidi saw Trudi drinking the water she went into the fridge, which I forgot to close, and got Gus' water bottle out and started drinking it in front of me, almost like a "look at me mommy." Too cute.
After Trudi drank more water than I expected her to she eventually went to sleep. Talk about feeling like a retard of a mother. :)

I'm glad you figured out what the problem was. Samantha really likes water too.
