Christmas Lights

Since it was finally warm enough tonight to take the kids outside for a long period of time I decided to take Heidi on the trip of her life. Literally. There was so much time to kill that I put Trudi on my hip and took Heidi in my hand. When we finally walked far enough down to the homes that were lit up with Christmas lights Heidi's voice became loud enough for the whole street to hear her. "LOOOOOK! LOOOOOK!" She screamed. "COLORS!!!!" LOOK!"

In all her life I have never seen her so excited. She couldn't look at all the homes fast enough. Every house that was lit up I would gasp, "WOW!!!" Feeling my excitement she knew this was something huge. She kept running along side me, wanting to see every home that was lit up. She was so loud that I was sure the neighbors would come outside. There were times she even tried to get on the grass to get a better look. When We came across some robotic deers I would say, "Look, it's Bambi!"

Trudi was also greatly taken by it that all she did was point in shock. She knew if her sister was excited, her mom was gasping, then we were walking the paths of heaven.

I'll probably do it again tomorrow night because it was so funny so much fun.

Sooo Funny

Last night Heidi decided to be a typical toddler and walk around the house wearing my dress shoes. Once she was done she left them in the living room and went onto something more entertaining. A few minutes later, as I was on the phone with my mom, I turned to look at Trudi and busted out laughing. She somehow got her little feet in the dress shoes, just like Heidi did, and started walking around the house in them. She was actually a lot better and faster than Heidi!

Prayer

I have two prayer requests. I'm posting this because I know the friends and family members who read this are pretty good at praying for other people.

1) Please keep me in your prayers regarding our living situation. We are still living in a one bedroom and desperately need a room for the kids. Heidi needs her own bed and there isn't any room for one so she shares our bed. This situation has been so trying for me that it's brought me to tears many times. We can only afford a certain amount but we're not about to bring our kids into a gang neighborhood. I don't think it's wise to do that. To understand more, one of our neighbors is very very loud and therefore my husband doesn't get much sleep at times. God does call us to be content in every situation and that's what I've honestly been trying to do. I know that God's plan is perfect even when we don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Please bare this burden with me and pray for our situation.

2) Please pray that my husband will be humbled to seek the Lord through the friends that God has brought into his life. In the difficulty of my living situation I definitely find joy in the Christian neighbors I have. My neighbors who live on one side of me have really been trying to reach out to Gus. The man of the house, Joshua, use to be a horrible man. Now he's a living testimony to Gus on how God can change a person. He and his family have recently been going to my church every Sunday and they hope to encourage Gus to join them. Also, my neighbor who lives across the boulevard is the co-pastor of the college department at church. He really wants us to come join his family for dinner, which would be another opportunity for Gus to be around a Christian man.

These prayer request are important to me and I really hope that you will remember me in your quite time.

Christmas Fun

This past Friday night my sister Julie came by to take my kids and I out again. Only this time it was extra special. She first took us to a yummy restaurant then drove us through the Christmas lights show at Griffith Park. My kids and I had never gone before and Trudi and Heidi were in a state of shock as we drove slowly with the windows rolled down. It was so much fun! Thanks Julie!
